TEN RUPEES / 10 RUPEES (1867 - 1901)

Obverse: GOVERNMENT OF INDIA on top centre, below is serial number with prefix placed on either side. In central denomination panel promise text with "TEN" in bold and large font. Below the promise text is language panel containing denomination in four languages in two panels. Below language panel is name of Circle of Issue with mirrored dates on either side. Bottom left is "FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA" in a panel and to right is signature. Denomination panel on either side aligned vertically with numerals in the Same languages and order as in the language panel. Below denomination panel 10/RUPEES" within double bordered circle. Green underprint of two ovals under serial number and large "TEN" in middle.
